Rupesh is an experienced business & product leader with leadership and management experience in a variety of different domains including corporate, social enterprise, nonprofit, and as a CSR leader. Currently, Rupesh is the Vice-President of Product Management at Infusionsoft. Formerly, Rupesh was the Executive Director of LAUNCH, an innovation platform and start-up accelerator. LAUNCH is supported by amazing partners such as Nike, NASA, USAID, and the Department of US State. LAUNCH brings together diverse thought leaders to better understand system barriers to huge global challenges, such as water, waste, or green chemistry, and uses the collective genius to accelerate innovations in those areas.
In 2013, Rupesh led Simpa Energy’s end-to-end customer experience including the Product, Technology, Marketing, & Customer Service functions. Simpa Energy is a solar as a service social enterprise in India. Simpa brings high-quality solar home systems packaged with finance and service to villagers who are off the grid. These systems provide life-altering energy for these neglected households. During Rupesh’s two and a half years at Simpa, it has grown from 200 to nearly 15,000 customers, achieved unit and branch level profitability, and is on the verge of more aggressive expansion. In addition, he expanded the product line to serve additional customer segments, developed partnership with manufacturing partners and suppliers in China, and lead the development of a end-to-end enterprise resource planning system to enable field force efficiency through tools and data.
Prior to Simpa Energy, Rupesh brought over 12 years of product management and product development experience from a long career at Intuit. He was Director of Product Management, Marketing, and UX for QuickBooks Mobile, leading different teams to build out worldwide apps on all mobile platforms for Intuit’s flagship product, QuickBooks. Before that role, he was the company’s first Director of Corporate Sustainability / Responsibility. In this role, Rupesh built a multi-faceted program that reduced Intuit’s own footprint through multiple renewable energy and conservation projects, helped design and develop new products aimed at helping Intuit’s customers, including small businesses, reduce their environmental footprint, and programs to engage Intuit’s 8000 employees in socially responsible efforts at the company. Rupesh advised both the Fasal and the txtWeb teams who have collectively reached 5 million Indian consumers and farmers through innovative SMS services.
In addition, Rupesh has also served as Manager of Learning and Development at Odwalla. Rupesh has consulted for AmeriCorps, the Presidio Leadership Center, the Corporation for National Service, Gorbachev Foundation, the United Nations and various other leading social organizations around the world. He has a MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and a BA from the University of California, San Diego.
